ART:9 × NEXTCOMIC 2026

As part of the 2026 Nextcomic Festival in Linz, ART:9 presented an exhibition centered on its series Phantom – Die Klassiker. Open from 20–28 March at Foyer 2 in the Ursulinenhof, the exhibition highlighted the origins of the iconic Phantom comic strip and its reappearance in the new ART:9 series.

Selected excerpts from the Phantom – Die Klassiker publications were displayed alongside reproductions of the original newspaper dailies, as well as a full-scale original illustration. The presentation offered visitors insight into both the historical context and editorial process of the series.

Editor Michael J. Keplinger shaped the exhibition, reflecting ART:9’s commitment to preserving classic comics and making them accessible to contemporary audiences. The showcase was featured in ORF’s Oberösterreich heute coverage of the festival.
