False Neon God
False Neon God is an experimental music video by Michael J. Keplinger set to specially created music. It combines music, choreography and film, with each of these aspects to be understood as an interpretation of the others. In the process, layers of sound and image repeatedly collapse in and out of synchronicity. The music video celebrated its cinema premiere at the CROSSING EUROPE Film Festival 2020 in the Experimental Shorts section of the Local Artists section.
False Neon God was part of the multi-media art project and diploma theses Sphere, which was featured on best-of-at by designaustria, a platform showcasing top graduation projects from Austrian art and design schools. Sphere examines how music can be represented in visual and audiovisual media. The project’s focus is on creating a stylistic and narrative connection between sound and imagery, with emphasis on graphic design for vinyl records, web design, and film.
