The 2025 Remasters
The 2025 Remasters revisit two early works by Michael J. Keplinger: False Neon God and Pick Up Your Cross (and follow me). While stylistically distinct, both pieces share a common path—originally released with their music videos, screened at international festivals, and now presented for the first time on all major streaming platforms via DIEgital Records.
False Neon God is an experimental instrumental, paired with a stark music film starring Silke SILK Grabinger. Shot in a single night in December 2018, the film premiered at the Crossing Europe Film Festival in Linz and later screened at the New Generation Film Festival in Serbia.
Pick Up Your Cross (and follow me) is an intimate acoustic love song created during the 2020 pandemic. Its hand-animated music video, developed frame by frame in one week with Simona Ascher and Django as models, received multiple awards and screened at festivals across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
Both tracks have been newly remastered for 2025, offering a vibrant, full sound and their first wide digital release.
