Polizeimusik OÖ

On March 15, 2015, I was honored to play with the Polizeimusik Oberösterreich as a »special guest« at their annual concert at the Brucknerhaus in Linz, under the musical direction of Dr. Harald Haselmayr. Other special guests of the evening were the Poxrucker Sisters with three of their own pieces.

Preceding introduction: »For the next program item, the following headline would fit: ›Guitar virtuoso climbs music heaven with his instrumental ballad Europe.‹ We want to make the following music a plea for an almost forgotten composer with a lot of fire and momentum. By which I mean Carlos Santana. In our bandmaster’s search for a suitable interpreter, this fell on a young man. About fifty years younger than Santana, as initials ›MK‹, grown up in the smartphone-laptop-tablet era and guitarist. He and his guitar convinced him with captivating clear sound quality and the highest level of virtuosity. We now bring a speciality but also a concert rarity: guitar and wind orchestra. Have fun with ›Europe‹ by Carlos Santana – as soloist you will hear Michael Keplinger.«
